Turf Seminar – “Lawn Care 101″
The Turf Seminar is offered FREE every winter. There is a lot more to lawn care than mowing, but many of us maintain our lawns based on trial and error. Those errors show up on our lawns, our water bills and in our creeks, rivers and lakes. Discover the most effective and earth-friendly way to care for your lawn.

Dr. James McAfee, Turfgrass Specialist with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Dallas, will teach you how to care for your lawn like an expert. Subjects covered will include the proper height to mow, how and when to fertilize, how to water most efficiently and much more. These techniques will give you a healthy lawn, save money and help prevent water pollution. Two 60-gallon rain barrels donated by CatchTheRain.com will be given away at end of the turf session. Also, we will have 6 drawings to give away a bag of Green Sense organic fertilizer from Rohde’s Nursery and Nature Store.
Following the turf session, plan to attend the following 30-minute presentations:
Do-It-Yourself Sprinkler Repairs
Included in the presentation are proper controller programming, system components, sprinkler head selection, seasonal adjustments, minor repairs and repair parts.
Sustainable Landscaping
Learn how to sustainably use lawn chemicals and manage your yard waste for a nice, lush lawn, while keeping pollution out of our local creeks, rivers and lakes.
